07/09/01 - Yamaha has released some preliminary screenshots of the forthcoming Version 2.0 OS 
                for the AW4416!

                   -- NEW QUICK REC SCREEN
                   -- MIDI BULK DUMP SCREEN

07/06/01 - Yamaha has released some preliminary information about the version 2.0 software 
                upgrade for the AW4416...

                   " This new software will provide the following enhancements (that I know of):
                   
                   -- Improved graphics on the quick record screens There will be a vertical column 
                       on either side of the screen, with inputs on one side and tracks on the other. It will 
                       be easier to "patch" these by simply highlighting something in each column. 

                   -- Full MIDI implementation. There will be provisions for you to control outside equipment 
                      and software via the controls of the AW4416. Along with this capability, you will also 
                      be able to save various libraries and automixes via bulk dump. There will be several 
                      new pages in the MIDI menu to implement this. 

                   -- Assignable Control Keys Various functions you want to keep handy (like- song save, 
                      EQ on/off, DYN on/off, etc) can be assigned to the F keys below the screen. 

                   -- Waves Y56K card support All the control parameters of the new Waves plug in card 
                       will be fully implemented, allowing the Y56K card to immediately function in the AW4416.

03/07/01 - Yamaha has updated information about upcoming OS version 1.3,
                which will include defragmentation and spanning of CD-R for backup!
                There is also some information posted about the WAVES and Apogee YGDAI cards.

02/21/01 - Yamaha has released OS version 1.21 which fixes jog/shuttle lockups and metronome problems!

                Removed AWExtract section. 
                Development has been stopped now that *.WAV files can be exported directly from the AW.

01/23/01 - WAVES is going to be releasing an awesome option card for the AW4416! 
                Here is the press release from winter NAMM, it has some really cool features!

01/23/01 - I fixed the AW4416 manuals and put them in one big zip file. 
                The reference manual still cannot find one font, but you can see most of it.

01/23/01 - Yamaha has released another manual addendum for OS version 1.2.
                I included it in the manual PDF file I compiled (see above).

01/18/01 - Roland has announced their impressive competition for the AW, the VS2480.
