I use the AW for a few live shows. My issue with it is that the aux outs have no EQ on them, so im forced to use outboard gear. I have used the internal EQ on the ST out for the main EQ to tune the room and PA and that works fine. I would like to do the same for the aux mixes. The aux mixes i use for 3 monitor mixes. I use 7-8 for internal FX. I figure i could set up auxes 1-3 (pre fader of course) and send them to 3 input channels. No stereo out and have it patched out via auxes 4-6 to omni out 1-3(thats the easy part). How would you route this? With 2 mixes i could use aux 1-2 out via omni 1-2, and use a cable patched back into open channels, no stereo out but going to the wedges via aux/omni 3-4. Can this be done some way with the busses? Can 3 or more mixes be done some way with internal EQs? I find it a challenge to tune monitor wedges with the internal EQ. I have had nice results using the EQ on the ST out to drive wedges, and would like the same for the aux/omni outs. Your input, as usual, would be greatly appreciated. ---------- AS Orange Barn Productions

| Do you have anything connectet to the IO-slots? May that work as an output too? I did it with a Tascam IF-DA-8 (+ TDIF-expansion card of course)or with a behringer ADA8000 (+ an ADAT expansion card). The benefit of the AW-Slots is that here you may use the busses as output signals. It seems you may NOT route the busses to omni-outs (Manual). I routed the Channels (17/18..) dedicated to do the AUX-EQing to (mono) buses-and those buses to the outputs provided by the AW-Slot. I hope that helps. Sometimes I use the digital output (PDIF) to do the patchwork. Then I'd route AUX1/AUX2 to PDIF-Out. Connect PDIF-in and out via a short cinch cord. PDIF-in would be routed to two adjacent Inputs. I prefer to uses input channels 17..24 for such tasks.

Sorry if I got it wrong. I admit I'm not at the machine now and I would have proposed to route the busses through the omni-outs, too. But before I did I looked it up in the manual (pdf)... I looked it up again now, but still the manual says you can't do that. Did you try it with the machine? Did they change it with some update or is there a mistake in the manual?

| yes , i did with the machine. dont know where you're looking in the manual, but the operation guide explicitely states that it is possible (page 137 of the english version).

so you got no extra output. but as buck is right and I was wrong (I was mislead by a the english reference manual page 16) you may route the busses output to the omni-outs.

| So thats it? Route the busses to the omni outs? Okay, next question: Can you do the reverse? I mean, route the auxes to busses? The reason i am doing it is to simplify the monitor process. I dont know hoe many monitor techs there are on this site but you need the quickest easiest setup, or the artists get pissed (or deaf). I would like to hit aux and adjust for each mix without alot of hassle. I also dont have the machine with me now, its in the new studio/jam/concert room. Thanks for the quick response and can someone delete my double posted topic, many thanks ---------- AS Orange Barn Productions

AUX to busses? Why? I try to write it in a short symbolic way:AUX1/2 -> D.St.out->cinch->D.St.in -> Ch17/18 Ch17->Bus1->omni1=MON1 Ch18->Bus2->omni2=MON2 AUX3->omni4->cord->input?->Ch19 Ch19->Bus3->omni3=MON3

Honestly, that seems a little confusing. I am using the stereo out as well.
